Gary Whitfield established Whitfield Associates, Inc., a full-service and award-winning architectural, planning, and interior design firm in 1975 in Laguna Beach, California and moved the business to Dana Point in 2000. Throughout the decades, Gary and his team has used a customer-centric approach to become one of the premier automotive facility design firms in the western United States. Whitfield Associates, Inc. is known for beautifully contemporary, operational, and jaw dropping designs that have made the Whitfield name recognizable not only in the automotive market but in the retail, healthcare, residential, hospitality, and civil markets as well. They have built all over California including Palm Springs, Beverly Hills, San Diego, Escondido, Santa Monica, Santa Clarita, Ontario, Long Beach, Thousand Oaks, Alhambra, Glendale, Riverside, Irvine, Tustin, Buena Park, Dana Point, Carson, Carlsbad, Los Angeles, and many more. Since 1975, Whitfield Associates, Inc. has provided design services for over 800 automotive facilities across a variety of brands, was a long-term design partner for BMW of North America and MINI USA, and completed Porsche Palm Springs, the first Generation 5 Porsche dealership in the world.

In 2021, Goree acquired Whitfield Associates, Inc. and announced the formation of GoreeWhitfield. The two companies are built on the similar principle of providing the highest level of service to clients which has led to a harmonious relationship. The new entity has better served the needs of Goree’s west coast automotive clients, created a satellite office as we expand our offerings and reach, and has provided more resources for the GoreeWhitfiled team and their clients. Gary Whitfield joined GoreeWhitfield as a Senior Vice President and the merger has allowed him to focus on his visionary designs as he provides his long-standing clients with the same services they are accustomed to.
